The Southern Jewish Historical Society announces the October 2001 publication of Volume 4 of its annual journal, SOUTHERN JEWISH HISTORY. Orders are now being accepted. Volume 4 includes articles by Robert Marcus, Jim Quinlan, ArleneG. Rotter, Richard E. Sapon-White, Hollace A. Weiner, and Stephen J. Whitfield.. Mark K. Bauman is the Editor of SOUTHERN JEWISH HISTORY.

Volume 4 will be published in Fall 2001. Any member of the Southern Jewish Historical Society who is in good standing as of September 2001 will receive Volume 4 as a benefit of membership. If you or your organization support the journal with a gift of $250, $500, or $1,000, your name or the name of your organization will appear as a sponsor, patron, or benefactor in the next journal, and you will receive all benefits of membership.

Weiner; how a small group of Jewish women raised the funds to build a synagogue in Anniston, Alabama, by Sherry Blanton; and an exploration of the intricate interaction between Jews and African Americans during an era of both rising anti-Semitism and racism, by Clive Webb. Mark K. Bauman is the Editor of SOUTHERN JEWISH HISTORY. Rachel Heimovics is Managing Editor.
