Book Prize Winner for 2007

Author of Coalfield Jews: An Appalachian History


The Southern Jewish Historical Society awards a prize every four years for the book making the most significant contribution to the field of southern Jewish history. The 2007 award considered submissions for books published between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2006. The next award will occur in 2011 and will be for books published between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2010.

The 2003 First Prize in the SJHS Book Contest goes to Clive Webb, author of Fight Against Fear.

Honorable Mention goes to Leonard Rogoff, author of Homelands.
